A few days in Singapore before our Lindblad/National Geographic trip through Indonesia. We stayed at the Fullerton Bay Hotel
and had a view across the water to the twice evening light show from our rooms balcony.

Snorkel the Seychelles

This is a 7+ minute video of select snorkel footage from my GO PRO camera from our May 2015
Lindblad/National Geographic trip aboard the National Geographic Orion. We snorkelers had many
long hours in these beautiful waters while the SCUBA folks aboard were able to make at least 8
dives. With the clear water and relatively shallow reefs I feel the snorkel experience may actually
be as good or better than SCUBA since we spend significantly more time in the water. Free diving
to 30-40 feet lets you do it all.

Zanzibar and the Seychelles

Another lovely Lindblad/National Geographic trip to exotic places. This video is heavy with underwater
snorkeling footage with my go pro and shows just how much one can see without scuba gear if the
location is right with healthy corals and when it has not been" fished out".

Kayli with Manatees

3/4/2015

Kayli is our 10 year old granddaughter. We recently  took her to Florida primarily to swim with the manatees. Three half day sessions in the Crystal River area. It was great except for the fact that the temperature when we headed out on the first morning was 27 degrees Fahrenheit. Thanks for wet suits and
71 degree water.

We recently spent a day in a California State Parks cabin at the Steep Ravine site north of San Francisco. Along with great ocean views
was a wonderful opportunity to observe and photograph humming birds. A few days later we spent a day in Yosemite so I have included
some scenery and wildlife from there as well. The first time we have seen a bobcat there and it was even chased by a coyote.
Happy Holidays!

I have taken excerpts from twenty some videos of the South America trip with Lindblad/National Geographic which
highlight the nature and wildlife aspects and combined them into this 36 min. video. The cities, people, Estancias,
markets, etc. are still available on the other short videos. Here you will see birds, Right Whales, Tamandua, Capybara,
Iguazu and Kaieteur Falls, Torres de Paine, Cape Horn, leaf cutting ants and other wonders.

Revised Monterey Bay Aquarium "tentacles" exhibit

5/18/2014

This is a revision of the previous
"tentacles" video with much more
live exhibit video with some additional footage of some of the
exhibit demonstration videos shown at the aquarium. We were
there as the aquarium opened and
all of the animals were active and easily seen. The mid ocean octopus and the vampire squid had just been obtained and put on exhibit the previous day. $3.5 million was spent on this exhibit and it is amazing. No jellies but that exhibit is also still worth the trip.

This video is something new I am trying out. I have looked through some of my old footage and selected out some fun or unusual
scenes and put them together as a collage from all over the world. Things jump around with no rhyme or reason but it is all wildlife.
Lots of big cats, grizzly and polar bears, whales and dolphins, Africa, the Poles, and places in between. If people like this I will go
through more trips and do it again. If there are any questions as to critters or locations just send me an e-mail and I will try to answer.

Salvador

Salvador was the capitol of Brazil until 1763. It was the main entry port for the African slave trade and has a high population of people of African descent. The ladies in the large colorful hoop dresses make their money by posing for photographs with the many tourists. This city of about 3.5 million was one of the first cities in the New World. It is renowned for its Portuguese colonial architecture. This shows parts of the historical center.

Bahia Blanca Estancia

The Bahia Blanca Estuary is along the coast south from Buenos Aires. We experienced goucho performances as well as touring the ranch and observing some of the other animals they have such as gazelles and lama.
We also were able to stop and see burrowing parrots as they returned to roost. It was almost dark and one could barely see the parrots but the video camera did a great job in the low light.

A brief view of river life and how it totally dominates how people live. We were in areas and channels where probably no cruise ship had ever ventured and as such we were as much an oddity to the locals as they were to us.

Serra Verde train

11/27/2013

This train line was completed in 1885 after 5 years of construction. It traverses the Atlantic rainforest of coastal Brazil as it descends
3,000 feet to sea level. With the development of highways and trucking it is no longer required to take grains to the port. Originally
the route extended for 380 miles but now of the original 5 stations there are only 3 active. The ones from Curitiba to the coast through
the rain forest
with the spectacular views as it passes through 15 tunnels and over 30 tressels. It remains open as a major tourist
attraction.

Fernando de Noronha lies 200 miles off the coast of Brazil and is a National Park. It is a small island paradise with lovely beaches and
great diving and snorkeling. This footage is from my GoPro while snorkeling.
